 Welcome to Boots & Banter

This isn’t just a hiking blog. It’s a trail journal with sarcasm

Landscape photo of rolling hills under a blue sky in the UK countryside.

From lost boots to blog posts…

It started, like most questionable ideas, with a “quick walk” that turned into a 20 km detour, wet socks, and a life-changing sandwich on a summit.

Somewhere between losing the path and finding the view, I realised I didn’t need company to feel strong — just my boots, a bit of stubbornness, and snacks.

I hike solo (mostly), talk to sheep, and share it all here — the highs, the mishaps, the sideways rain, and the reflections that only show up after kilometre 17.

And later, somewhere between summit selfies and oversharing, I realised I had more than just stories — I had something to say.

That’s how Boots & Banter was born: a blog for the wild thoughts, wilder weather, and all the reflections you earn the hard way — uphill.

If you’ve ever wanted to hike alone, laugh at yourself, or find clarity on a cold, windy ridge — you’re in good company.

Pull on your boots, bring your banter, and let’s wander this messy, magical trail together.
